VDI Dritev

Formerly known as VDI Drivetrain for Vehicles, VDI Dritev will take place 27^th – 28^th June 2018, at the Wolrd Conference Center, in Bonn Germany.

The change of name is inspired by the changing working environment of transmission experts. The world of transmissions has changed substantially in the last 15 years: the drivetrain is taking centre stage as a result of intensifying discussion about CO2 and the transformation of the transmission into the drivetrain manager as a result of increasing electrification. The challenge today is seeing the transmission as a part of the entire drivetrain and using this systemic view in its design and development. We’re staying abreast of these changes. And we’re addressing what moves today’s transmission developers.

This year we are honoured to be presenting a joint paper with Continental AG titled:

“Dedicated Hybrid Transmissions: How a systemic approach accelerates engineering process from concept development to real applications”

This paper highlights the development process behind synthesis, analysis and prototyping of a DHT concept, when mechanical and functional integration are in focus, demonstrating the benefits of a system approach on a simulation-based environment.
